Apple wasn’t technically the first to make gold a “thing” with mobile phones, but it definitely took the color option mainstream in 2013. Following the launch of the gold-colored iPhone 5s, HTC introduced the gold hued-HTC One and HTC One Max. Likewise, Samsung introduced a rose gold Galaxy Note 3. Not to be outdone, LG is also throwing its hat in the ring.

The company recently unveiled a gold option for its G2 flagship smartphone, and it’s already available in Taiwan for about $530. There’s no word right now on whether or not the gold G2 will ever make is way to the United States, but our gut feeling is that it probably won’t. If we’re lucky, however, perhaps we’ll see it hit Best Buy or one of the carriers as an exclusive.

We have to say, we’re pretty attracted to this device. If only the back cover was made out of metal, too!
