Apple was required to halt sales of the Mac Pro in Europe back in March of last year because it wasn’t compliant with certain local regulations. Resellers were allowed to sell off remaining inventory after March 1, though Apple last took orders for the computer on Feb. 18 in Europe. 9to5Mac said the ban was largely due to how the computer’s fans were designed. Now, thanks to a new model, the Mac Pro is back on sale.
Obviously Apple shouldn’t run into any trouble with the new Mac Pro, primarily because it has a brand new industrial design but also because we imagine Apple designed it to avoid any further bans. According to 9to5Mac, some Europeans can expect to see their new Mac Pro units delivered as early as tomorrow, though new orders likely won’t arrive until February at the earliest.
Most folks were probably ready to wait for a new Mac Pro model anyway, so hopefully the brief ban didn’t affect too many potential customers. Plus, Apple’s new Mac Pro was probably well worth the wait, especially considering some of the powerhouse specs under the hood of the more expensive configurations.
