T-Mobile CEO John Legere gave us some quick insight into the carrier’s Q4 earnings during his UnCarrier 4.0 event at CES 2014. Legere said that T-Mobile added 1.645 million new customers during the fourth quarter. That made it not only the best quarter of the year — in terms of customer adds — but th best quarter in the past 8 years.

Legere said T-Mobile noted 869,000 postpaid net adds, including 69,000 tablet sales, which T-Mobile just started selling. In all, T-Mobile has had three consecutive quarters where it added more than 1 million customers, and added a total of 4.4 million customers in 2013.

Pretty impressive figures, considering T-Mobile was bleeding customers quarter-on-quarter for several years before it started its new UnCarrier initiatives.
