Parrot Introduces the MiniDrone to Harass Your Pets

If you’ve loved the AR.Drone from Parrot, you’re going to flip for the new MiniDrone.

The folks at Parrot have decided that a full-sized quad-coptor isn’t necessarily for everyone, so why not come out with a mini version that everyone can enjoy? Announced at CES 2014, the MiniDrone will release sometime this year, but we don’t the price yet.

The MiniDrone connects to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth Smart (Low Energy) and will let you control it via your smart device. It can either fly or roll along the floor, or even roll along the ceiling if you prefer. The company assures us it is the easiest to control quad-coptor yet. And if you aren’t comfortable with controlling it just on your own, it also has some autopilot capabilities thanks to its numerous sensors.

And the glowing “eyes” are a nice touch.

We’ll have a hands-on video for you later today along with the new Jumping Sumo that the company also announced at the show.
