“Next Halo Journey” Coming to Xbox One This Year

The Xbox One has launched to massive success, but in spite of the impressive numbers, something still seems missing. What could it be? Ah, that little franchise they own called Halo! Luckily we aren’t going to have to wait that long for the next game.

Halo senior PR manager┬áRob Semsey took to Twitter to answer some questions about Microsoft’s 2014 line-up, more specifically why Halo is not listed yet. His comments point to the fact that the game simply doesn’t have a title yet, but “Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014.”

The new Halo game was first shown off at E3 last year with a mysterious trailer. Microsoft has since spilled the story details, but other than that, little is known about the title or the gameplay, although I doubt it’s going to stray too far from the norm. I don’t see what’s wrong with the title Halo 5, but we’re probably jumping back into sub-sequel territory again so Microsoft can hype another comeback like Halo 4.

For those who can’t stand the wait, just remember that it took two years for Halo 3 to first pop up on the Xbox 360. The turnaround time for Halo is actually improving with this generation leap.

What are you playing on the Xbox One while still waiting for the next Halo game? Does the series still have the same clout it had back when Halo 3 was the biggest thing on Earth?
