The second week of January brings two games to the Instant Game Collection that I have been waiting to play but don’t exactly want to pay for.
First up is the PlayStation 4 version of Don’t Starve, a game I’ve already paid for several times over through Humble Bundle and Steam Holiday Sales. For that reason alone, I don’t want to pay for it anymore. I haven’t had the chance to sit down with it yet, but I’m sure I will get there some day.
The other game is the controversial reboot to Devil May Cry, simply titled DmC. The punk rockin’ Dante flies heavily in the face of what former Capcom game designer Hideki Kamiya had originally envisioned over a decade ago, and fans cried out against the change while the hype train rolled along.
Surprise, surprise. DmC launched to a sky high critical reception, silencing its doubters who had more fun with the gameplay than they imagined they would. Dante himself is still a mixed bag who has yet to prove his reborn existence. He still looks and sounds a little too much like Anakin Skywalker to me.
I still haven’t gotten around to playing it yet, though the demo was quite fun. No more excuses now, I suppose.
How are the choices this week? Are you down for DmC and Don’t Starve?
