Xbox One Broke 3,000,000 Sold Before the End of 2013

Another day, another milestone in the brand new console gaming generation. Today’s sales statistic that’s cause for celebration comes from the folks at Microsoft.

As the headline suggests, the Xbox One officially crossed the 3,000,000 sold mark before the end of 2013. The line must have been breached during the holiday space between Christmas and New Year’s.

Here’s the tweet from Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb:

Notice that Hyrb used the term “sold” there. That means purchased by consumers, not just shipped to retailers and sitting on shelves.

A successful launch for the Xbox One is good news for the gaming community at large. Both it and the PlayStation 4 are off to stellar starts. Let’s hope that can hold the momentum as time marches on.

Have you snagged an Xbox One?
