Asus just took the wraps off of a really exciting new product called the Transformer Book Duet TD300. It not only can function as both a tablet and a laptop, but it can also function as either an Android or a Windows machine, which is why we think Asus’ decision to dub it a “quad-mode” device is appropriate.
The Transformer Book Duet TD300 runs both Windows 8.1 and Android 4.1, and you can switch between the operating systems by simply tapping an “instant switch button.” Doing so allows you to run Android apps on the device when you want to, or full-blown Windows 8.1 apps if you decide. Other hardware features include a 13.3-inch full HD IPS touchscreen display, up to an Intel Core i7 processor, up to a 128GB solid state hard drive (or a 1-terabyte hard drive), 4GB of RAM, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a microSD card slot and more.
Asus did not provide information on how much the Transformer Book Duet TD300 will cost, or when it will be available, though we hope to spend more time with it soon to find out additional details.
