Lenovo Unveils Beacon Home Cloud Storage Solution

Lenovo is probably best known in the United States for its computers, but the company just announced a really cool new product called the “Beacon Home Cloud Center.” It’s really simple, basically think of it as your own personal cloud storage device.

Basically, it connects to your home network and allows you to add up to six terabytes of hard drive space. Then, you can load it up with music, movies, files, whatever you want, and you’ll be able to then either play it back on your TV or stream it down to your Android phone or tablet, no matter where you are. Your smartphone can also double as a remote, so you can see the content and then choose to stream it to your TV.

The Beacon Home Cloud Center is powered by its own dual-core Intel Atom processor and has 1GB of memory, USB 3.0, HDMI-out and OneKey File transfer support. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi support and an Ethernet jack. Lenovo did not yet announce pricing or a release date.
