Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is Nearly Finished, says WayForward

Shantae Pirate's Curse

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, the third entry in WayForward’s sassy platforming series, was originally scheduled to be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop late in 2013, but an unfortunate delay pushed it back into this year. Not to worry, because the game is nearly finished and should be out very soon.

Addressing the Kickstarter backers of its next title, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, WayForward made mention of Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse stating that the game’s development was “nearing the finish line.”

The team is working super crazy hard and the game just keeps getting more amazing with each passing day.  By the time the last snowfall of Winter melts you should all be happily enjoying a brand new adventure in Sequin Land!

I guess this means you can still look forward to more Shantae before the end of the winter, so maybe a February release is our guess.

WayForward also brought up the issue of Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, the second game in the series, and its upcoming PC release through Steam. The update says that it will feature everything that made the DSi release so much fun, and all the extra bells and whistles of the iOS will be brought along as well. It is calling the version a Director’s Cut and is expecting a Q2 release.

Shantae: Half-Minute Hero, the Kickstarter game it successfully funded not to long ago, is currently in pre-order phase and will be released for nearly every platform under the sun in the coming year.
