Minecraft not Heading to the Wii U, but it “Would Make Sense,” says Notch

Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson has responded to a rumor about his creation coming to the Wii U, and unfortunately this story has a sad ending. Minecraft is currently not in development for Nintendo’s system.

In a Twitter post, Notch assured everyone that he loves Nintendo, he’s just “too busy” to work on the port right now.

Oh well. No Minecraft for Nintendo in the foreseeable future. The GamePad might seem like a perfect fit for the game to operate with, but you’ll just have to play the game on every other platform that it has been released for. Don’t worry, you can still make Nintendo characters and pretend you’re on a Nintendo console.

Isn’t imagination half the fun of Minecraft after all?
