Google Glass may have failed to go mainstream in 2013, but with just one day left until the new year Google has opened up orders for the $1,500 wearable device for everyone subscribed to the company’s paid music streaming service. Google Play Music All Access members started receiving emails from the search giant this morning offering a chance to purchase Google Glass.
“With the launch of Google Play Music on Google Glass, we’ve secured VIP invitations for All Access customers to join the Glass Explorer Program,” Google said. “Interested in rocking out while exploring with Glass? Sign up to receive your invitation below!”
Google Glass is still restricted to U.S. residents, though you should be able to grab a pair as long as you have a U.S. shipping address. The newest design also features a single built-in earbud for listening to music, though from what we hear the Google Play Music app can really burn through battery life.
The invitation does appear to be rolling out in stages as it took a while for ours to appear, so if you haven’t received one yet, hang tight.
