Last week, the developer behind No Man’s Sky, Hello Games, suffered a sudden flood in the aftermath of a storm that rolled through the U.K. and took to Twitter to let everyone know.
This weekend the developer posted another update:
BAD NEWS! Had a ‘hilarious’ call with insurer yesterday. Small print is if you are in a flood risk zone, you are not insured for flooding 🙁
— Hello Games (@hellogames) December 28, 2013
They followed that tweet with another, attempting to look on the bright side, saying that no insurance means no red tape to get things started again.
According to Joystiq, Phil Spencer – Corporate VP of Microsoft Studios – responded to a follow request on Twitter and said that he is “going to look into it.”
Hello Games hasn’t said that they even need help, but the studio is very small. It’s possible that the awesome VGX trailer below helped them pull in some funding that’ll get them through this. They could also be in very dire straits, and help from Microsoft might be just what they need.
