If you came into some cash for the holidays and you’ve been trying to get a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, eBay, you might want to double and triple check whichever listings you’ve considered bidding on.
Some sellers have taken to the virtual marketplace in order to seemingly list amazing deals. They open bids for these new consoles at prices like $150, an insanely low entry price for the machines. What bidders skip when trying to buy are the ridiculously high shipping costs.
In one example we found, a PlayStation 4 was up to $203 with two hours until the sale was final. Sounds great, until you notice the $558.75 shipping price. The real price to ship, of course, would likely fall in the $10 or $20 range.
Listen. Do not buy these consoles from sellers with absurd shipping costs. Ignore them. This seller stands to make roughly $300 with this sale by charging an inflated shipping cost.
If you’re dying to get your hands on either console, just wait. Retailers have been receiving shipments at a constant clip. The availability of both consoles will grow steadily over time.
Don’t get suckered.
