Minecraft is spreading like wildfire through the video game world, popping up on every platform known to man, and now it has its eyes on next-gen. Of course the game will be coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but what about the Nintendo crowd? Will Minecraft ever be making its way to the Wii U?
Apparently so, reads a rumor from Nintendo Enthusiast. Citing a retailer source, the developer, most likely professional Minecraft porter 4J Studios, has acquired a Wii U dev kit after Nintendo pushed heavily to get the title on its platform.
4J Studios is supposedly developing the Wii U version alongside the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One builds, and all three should be released by this coming summer.
Again, treat this as a big rumor, but what would the Wii U’s gamepad be able to bring to the Minecraft experience? More importantly, can the huge community, 33 million purchases and counting, help boost Nintendo’s rebounding system?
