Samsung is reportedly working on a new Galaxy Note tablet with a 12.2-inch display, adding a few inches to its existing 10.1-inch version of the tablet. At least one rumor has suggested that it’s going to ship under the “Galaxy Note Pro” moniker, and now we have an image of the alleged device to add a bit more kindling to the rumor fires.
It’s hard to see a real distinguishing difference between this photo and the 2014 10.1-inch Galaxy Note. If you look closely, you can still see the stitching on the faux-leather back panel, in addition to the silvery plastic border running along its edges. We can also see the volume controls and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the left-hand side, and a camera on the back that’s below what appears to be the IR blaster. Specs apparently include a super sharp 2,560 x 1600-pixel display, Android 4.4 KitKat, 3GB of RAM and a 9,500mAh battery. The tablet does look slightly larger than the 10.1-inch model, we’ll give it that, but it could be fake so proceed with caution.
Samsung may indeed have a 12.2-inch Galaxy Note Pro in the works. If it does see the light of day, our guess is that Samsung will make the announcement early next month during CES, or in early February during the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona.
