We’ve already heard quite a lot about the successor to the HTC One, allegedly code-named HTC M8, and the newest rumor claims it will run the latest version of Android in addition to a brand new iteration of Sense.

Insider @LlabTooFeR is claiming on his Twitter page that the Taiwanese company is currently testing the HTC M8 with Android 4.4.2 KitKat as well as “next version of Sense,” which could be Sense 6. Unfortunately, we still don’t know what kinds of new features HTC is planning to add to the next version of its Android skin.

Other leaked reports have stated that an early February or March release in 2014 on all carriers is the most likely window, and it will sport a 5-inch 1080p display and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. Those will certainly be nice spec bumps, though competitors have already beat HTC to the market with that chip.

The HTC One was one of the best received phones of 2013, and it looks like HTC will be trying to beat rival Samsung’s Galaxy S5 out the gate. Two of the best reviewed phones are locked and ready for a ferocious round 2. Who’s coming out on top this year?
