Team Ninja Will be Back in Control of the Next Ninja Gaiden

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z has not gone over well with Ninja Gaiden fans who are looking for a game more faithful to the Xbox iterations of the classic franchise. Not to worry, because the next game will be left in the hands of Team Ninja, the game’s original creators.

In a discussion on the matter with Yaiba’s lead designer, Keiji Inafune, Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi had stated that the thinking process for the next mainline Ninja Gaiden game has already begun.

To those people I say this: Team Ninja is thinking of the next Ninja Gaiden. For example, if the games were food, the Ninja Gaiden series would be a rich meaty entree and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z would be desert. Every course of the meal would be in the same Ninja Gaiden world, but gamers will experience different kinds of play. That’s how Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be different.

Just a quick reminder ,though. Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z might stray from the normal Ninja Gaiden series, but it is still a very fun game based on what I played at TGS 2013. In the meantime, Ninja Gaiden 3, developed by Team Ninja, was not. Without former studio leader, Tomonobu Itagaki, Team Ninja doesn’t seem up to the task of redelivering on the series. Be careful of what you wish for.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and iOS on March 4.
