Growing up, I didn’t buy a lot of video games. I typically got one for my birthday or for Christmas, and then maybe I was able to save up enough to buy one with my allowance or by working in the yard.
I rented games, instead. They were always expensive, and deep discounts like the ones we see on Steam today were completely non-existent.
I rented Castlevania for the NES. The honest truth? I never beat this game. I rented it a few times, and being so young and only having three days at a time to play, I never cleared it.
It’s on the Wii U’s eShop starting today, and that means I might finally pick it up and give it a crack. Get it? Whip joke. That was terrible.
Castlevania, like other NES games on the eShop, is selling for $4.99.
In other retro gaming releases, 3D Streets of Rage and 3D Shinobi III hit the Nintendo 3DS today by way of Sega. Man. Remember Streets of Rage?
