AT&T and Nokia pushed the Lumia Black software update out to the Lumia 1020 on Thursday, and it offers several enhancements that should make the phone even more enjoyable to use.

The update includes a new ability to lock the screen rotation, enhanced camera performance, improved battery monitoring, Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, new options to set custom ringtones for specific alerts and more. Nokia is also adding the latest version of its Glance lock screen, which allows you to view status notifications and messages without having to turn on your phone. Nokia Camera is also part of the update, and it combines the functions of Nokia Smart Camera and Nokia Pro Camera into one application. Nokia also says there are additional software stability and usability improvements.

You can check for the update manually by visiting Settings > Phone Update > Check for Updates from your Lumia 1020.
