The PlayStation 4 is the fastest selling console of all time. In fact, it’s selling so fast that Sony can’t keep the device on shelves long enough to get it into everyone’s hands. This makes PlayStation U.S. Boss Jack Tretton a very sad man.
Tretton joined the PlayStation Blog‘s podcast, PlayStation Blogcast 101, for a little update on the console, and expressed the hear breaking effects of not getting the PlayStation 4 into the hands of people who want them.
“You have competition out there. There are lots of things that people can spend money on, especially during the holidays; and the holidays only come around once a year, so that’s really when you want to take advantage of the market opportunity…It breaks my heart if somebody’s got $400 in their hand and they want one and we can’t sell them one.”
Tretton also vehemently denied the rumors that Sony was holding back stock on the PlayStation 4, trying to build up demand and mystique for the newest console.
