YouTube on Roku 3

After years of customers wondering where it was, a YouTube channel has finally been added to the Roku player.

For as long as there have been Roku players users have been wondering when a YouTube channel would finally make its way to the streaming media device. Roku announced today that the channel has now officially been added, but there is one caveat in that it is only available on Roku 3 players in U.S. Canada, U.K. and the Republic of Ireland. Additional Roku models will receive the channel in the future, but no word as of yet about the inclusion of more regions.

For those of you with a smartphone operating on the same Wi-Fi network as your Roku 3, you will also be able to send videos from your mobile device to the TV with ease from here on out.

Perhaps some day the mystery will be solved as to why this took so long, but at least the day has finally arrived.
