Metal Gear has never really been “buddy buddy” with the PC world despite the franchise being born on a Japanese home computer. PC releases have sprung up in the past, but they’ve gone typically under the radar and far from the level of enthusiasm met from the console versions.
Hideo Kojima wants to change that with the lines between consoles and PCs becoming less and less defined as time goes along, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be the first one to start that trend.
In a recent podcast from Kojima Productions Alert, staff members assured gamers that the hack ‘n slash from Platinum Games would indeed be getting a release on the PC, and it would be happening very soon.
“Yes, it’s coming, and it’s coming sooner than you anticipate,” the staff members said. “It’s in the final stages right now. You’ll be seeing it pop up on Steam any day now.”
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance turned up some decent reviews when released earlier this year, and longtime fans even found it in their hearts to embrace the controversial hero, Raiden. It only took turning him into a world class ultimate cyborg ninja to finally make him cool.
Keep an eye out for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeace any day on Steam, or just pick it up on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 for cheap if you are still in the console market.
