Marvel vs Capcom 2 and 3 Being Pulled from PSN and XBLA

If you haven’t yet purchased Capcom’s phenomenal fighting series, Marvel vs Capcom, from PSN or XBLA, you might want to do so soon. Both Utimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 are due to be pulled from both services this week.

PSN users will have to act quickly to buy the games since the 17th with be the last day of availability. As it stands right now, Marvel vs Capcom 2 is on sale for $3.75 for PlayStation Plus users ($7.50 for non-subscribers) and all Marvel vs Capcom 3 DLC is 50 percent off.

Xbox 360 gamers will have a bit more time to throw the cash down, but the game will be taken down on the 26th.

No explanation as to why these games are being pulled, but it most likely has something to do with Disney pulling the license for Marvel from Capcom. That would not explain Marvel vs Capcom Origins still being available, though.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 will still be available at retail, but this is the only way to get Marvel vs Capcom 2 to play on modern consoles, that is, unless you want to pull out your SEGA Dreamcast for a few rounds of fun. Nothing wrong with that.

Make sure to download it before your last chance to obtain one of the best fighting games ever made vanishes into thin air.
