Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag’s “Freedom Cry” DLC Gets Launch Trailer

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag owners won’t have to wait much longer to plunder the Caribbean as a completely different character. The “Freedom Cry” DLC, the first bit of extra story-driven content, releases this week.

Players will take on the role of Edward Kenway’s right hand, Adewale, as they fight to free slaves in what Ubisoft has dubbed more than four hours of fresh gameplay. The events fall after the quest wraps up in Black Flag proper, so keep that in mind.

The DLC will hit the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms on Dec. 17. A Wii U version is in the works, though the exact release date has not been given yet.

We’ll have more on Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag as it comes.
