Nexus 7 (2013) Now $180 at Office Depot

Nexus 7 - Google-Play-Store

Here’s a deal you don’t want to miss: Office Depot on Friday began selling Google’s 2013 Nexus 7 for just $179.99, or $50 below its original starting price point. The retailer is only selling the 16GB model at a discount but as we move toward storing more data in the cloud that shouldn’t be much of a problem for most folks.

The device still remains one of our favorite Android tablets to date. It’s nice and narrow, almost like a paperback book, but offers an incredibly sharp 7-inch screen and will be kept up to date with the latest versions of Android for the foreseeable future, which for now means Android 4.4.2 KitKat. If you want to save a bit more, though we think you’ll also sacrifice on the experience a bit, you can check out the Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 and Lenovo IdeaTab A1000L, which Office Depot is offering for $80 and $120, respectively. While the store sells other Android tablets that are even more affordable, we typically recommend avoiding those no-name brands.

The Nexus 7 (2013) should make a fine gift for anyone who wants a tablet this holiday season, and we’ll keep you in the loop if we spot any other sales.
