The original SOMA trailer hit about two months ago and, without telling us much of anything about the story, gave a solid glimpse into the world the game takes place in, along with some seriously unnerving body horror.
Today’s trailer is a bit less uncomfortable, but just as interesting. It’s more of an environmental demo. As suggested by the original video, the game’s environments look to be very inspired by H.R. Giger and the Aliens series.
In addition to the two in-game videos they’ve shown off so far, Frictional has made a couple live-action videos to build up the background for the game that you can watch below.
The first one has the engineer trying to get some sort of monitor up and running, only to see something she wasn’t ready for. The second has her interviewing an AI that isn’t quite as self aware as it thinks it is.
Still set for a 2015 release on PC and PlayStation 4, this is one I’m going to be watching eagerly.
