Terminal Reality, a development studio in Lewisville, Texas, has been shuttered.
The news comes by way of Gamasutra and a Facebook connection to a former-10-year-employee of Terminal Reality, Jesse Sosa. Sosa left the studio before its closure, it seems, as his distance from this incident is apparent in part of his update.
For those that have known me for a long time know that I was at TRI for 10 years. TRI seems to have finally shut down. A lot of different emotions are passing through me at the moment. I left there when I saw things going downhill but I have always kept up with them and hoped for the best.
Sure, having games like Star Wars Kinect and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct make up the veritable “hits” list of your studio’s history is definitely the sign of problems within. Terminal Reality wasn’t all bummers, though. They also produced the fan-favorite BloodRayne and the underrated Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
It stinks to see a studio go under, regardless of its recent track record. Here’s hoping all of those affected by the closure of this Texas-based studio land on their feet quickly. The worst part of this whole thing is that it’s the holidays.
