Nokia is apparently working on a lot of devices right now. We’ve heard rumors of a new 8-inch tablet, discussions about building an Android device and, now, a fresh rumor suggests there’s a new phablet in the works.
Oddly, the phone was actually spotted in a shipping record by an Indian import website called Zauba. The only information published was that the device is called RM-964 on some level, and that some segment of Nokia based in India apparently ordered two of early builds for testing and evaluation from the company’s Finnish headquarters. The shipping label reveals the 5.2-inch screen size, though we have nothing else to go off of. It’s more than likely a Windows Phone device, and UnwiredView notes the $563 value listed for each unit likely points to mid-to-high end device.
Nokia’s Lumia 1520 is the company’s current flagship phablet, though a 5.2-inch device could be more pocketable and would add a bit more screen real-estate than the rumored 5-inch Lumia 929 heading to Verizon. With a new version of Windows Phone on the horizon, it’s no surprise that Nokia is moving full steam ahead on its product roadmap.
