Miiverse and Nintendo Network ID on Nintendo 3DS Now

Miiverse on Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo has released a brand new system update for the Nintendo 3DS. The update brings the Miiverse and Nintendo Network ID system to the Nintendo 3DS.

The Nintendo Network ID system let’s you use a screen name rather than a code to interact with other gamers. If you own a Wii U, you’ll want to link your Nintendo Network IDs between each system. That will let you share wallets across Nintendo platforms, meaning the money you have in your account will be usable in both digital marketplaces.

The Miiverse is, essentially, a Nintendo social network for gaming. You can post messages for others to find in-game, you can partake in game communities to discuss said games and you can even post comments and screenshots to your own Miiverse feed.

The Miiverse is a hidden gem on the Wii U, and seeing it on the Nintendo 3DS with a much larger installation base of users should be awesome.

The whole update should only take a few minutes to download and install. Either try and open up the eShop on your system or access the update via the Settings button in your home menu.

I’m really looking forward to the addition of both features. I’ll probably be sharing way too many in-game shots of Zelda in action for my own good.
