LG just announced the G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition tablet, a pure Android 4.4 KitKat version of the G Pad 8.3. The device is available today from the Google Play Store for $349.99 contract-free in the U.S. LG says it’s still considering availability in other countries and has not determined any launches for other places at this time.

The G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition packs a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, an 8.3-inch IPS display with a 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution, 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a 4,600mAh battery and is available in black. It’s a good option for people who need a larger screen than the Nexus 7 ¬†offers, though the 16GB of storage may be unappealing to some folks.

We don’t see it in the Google Play Store just yet, but it should be there momentarily.
