Aside from the Earth-shattering news of announcing a Game of Thrones adventure at the Spike VGX awards, Telltale Games has also picked up another popular franchise to morph into their own vision. Tales from the Borderlands will be a joint venture from Gearbox Studios and the popular indie graphic adventure studio.
Gearbox will be providing all the assets to Telltale, and the studio will be developing it all on its own. The story will expand to beyond just guns and vault hunters, opening up the beautiful world of Pandora to some great storytelling. I always felt such a beautiful world was wasted in the puddle deep narrative of Gearbox’s own games. Maybe Telltale will give it the depth it needs to be great.
Still waiting for that Star Wars game from Telltale, though. Make it happen EA!
Tales from the Borderlands will be available in 2014 through episodic releases. It will most likely appear on every platform, just like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us.
