Skullgirls to be Pulled From PSN and Xbox Live on Konami’s Request

If you haven’t had a chance to play the indie fighting game hit Skullgirls, now would be the best time to check it out. Konami has requested Microsoft and Sony pull it following the collapse of business relations with developer Autumn Games.

The PSN version was asked to be pulled by December 17th, and the Xbox Live version should be pulled by the end of the year.

Autumn Games has turned to MarvelousAQL to republish the game on Xbox Live, hoping to get the game up and running again by the holiday weekend. As for the PSN version, it is looking to self-publish.

Worst case scenario, the game just doesn’t have a release over the Christmas holiday and it gets published once the new versions gets approved. Konami made the request without informing either of its partners, leaving them unprepared to make the change.

Skullgirls has been a marvelous success on the indie scene, and it has even made it big on the Japanese arcade scene, not an easy feat for a Western developed title. If you haven’t played it yet, be sure to give it a try soon or you might miss out on the chance for some time.
