The wood-backed Moto X has made yet another appearance before its official consumer release, via @evleaks, with Verizon branding stamped on the back. In a Google+ Hangout this week, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside revealed that the much anticipated wood option would be available “soon.” That’s good, and backs up what we heard last month—but it still avoids nailing down a precise date, hinting that the Google company is still experiencing major production issues.
Even still, Motorola is so close to releasing the wood-back option, which is good news for anyone patiently holding out. It’s worth mentioning that “soon” could potentially give Motorola a lot of breathing room—maybe it’ll come next week, maybe in a few months—so don’t hold your breath just yet. If you haven’t purchased a Moto X, you’ll have another opportunity this coming Monday for another awesome sale. Or you can just hold out for the wood backs, which we hope will come out very soon.
