Bungie’s hotly anticipated powerhouse shooter, Destiny, is scheduled to launch on Sept. 9, 2014. The company most well known for creating the Halo franchise first announced its next big multiplayer game back in February, and it was later revealed that the sci-fi shooter would be available for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS4. A beta is being promised for the summer next year for both of Sony’s most recent consoles.
The developer said in a post on its official site that it sees Destiny as being “a once in a lifetime opportunity,” one it hopes can live up to Bungie’s high standards. Having made such a name for itself with Halo, a lot of pressure will be on Bungie to deliver another blockbuster title. The upcoming shooter will stick to a familiar co-op formula fans of the developer are used to, with an all-new world to explore. Expect to see more of Destiny tonight at the VGA show, which you can stream on Spike.com.
