Walmart introduced HP’s Mesquite tablet last week on Black Friday, offering the Intel-powered slate for just $89 in a one-day-only promotion. Now, the device is back and retailing for just $100, though that’s with a $30 discount down from its full price of $129.

HP’s tablet offers entry level specs, including a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2460 processor that was designed to usher in a new wave of similar low-cost devices priced at under $100. It also comes equipped with 7-inch 1024 x 600-pixel display, a battery capable of lasting 5 hours, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for adding additional space. It’s also got a front-facing VGA camera, a microphone, and speaker for making video calls.

With these specs HP’s tablet probably won’t be able to handle more complex games or apps, but if you’re looking for a cheap device to surf the web and check email it should get the job done just fine.
