Mint.com already offers a popular application for managing your personal finances on iOS and Android devices, but starting today the company will also offer Windows native apps for Microsoft’s full Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8 devices. The official Windows launch follows a beta test, during which thousands of users gave the new apps a trial run.
For the most part, Mint’s new apps offer the same user experience as they do on other platforms. The biggest difference however, is Live Tile support, meaning you can check on your finances right from your device’s start screen. That’s definitely a nice feature, though you may not want your personal financial information popping up unprompted on your screen for everyone to see.
Mint.com offers a comprehensive hub to track all your bank account and spending. It also categorizes your information to help you budget your money, and can even send automatic alerts via text or email so you don’t forget to pay your recurring bills. The service is free and currently available for both Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8, though Windows RT users may be out of luck.
