Darth Vader, apparently fresh off a battle with the Rebel Alliance, had time to take a quick selfie and upload it to Instagram on Monday. The picture was posted on the official Star Wars Instagram account, which already has 8,000 followers (as of this writing) and climbing. Episode VII is still two years away, but that hasn’t stopped promoters from ramping up marketing for the series’ next big installment, which is being helmed by Star Trek director J.J. Abrams. Look at that poor, poor Stormtrooper just lying there in the background—nice photo bomb.
Instagram is coming fresh off its biggest day ever, and the platform itself is climbing into interstellar territory; seeing Star Wars officially make an appearance on the photo-sharing sight is no surprise—and the fact that it chose to go with a selfie is very fitting. It’s like any other photo on the service, only it’s Darth Vader, one of the saga’s most iconic characters. Disney hasn’t revealed how often it plans to update the account, but we’d expect a lot of attention until Episode VII officially hits theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
