LG on Wednesday officially appointed William Cho as its new president of United States opeartions, where he will also help oversee the company’s Home Entertainment business. Wayne Park, the former LG Electronics president in the United States, has moved on to a new position as the global sales and marketing officer with LG.
Previously, Cho has served as president of LG Canada and as president of the company’s Australian operations, and it’s no surprise he’s found success with the company, he actually joined LG 26 years ago, which is quite a feat considering the rate at which tech firms seem to poach executives from one another. His latest gig with the firm was as the head of LG’s residential air conditioning business, LG said.
Cho will presumably begin his role as the president shortly, though he will take on the additional duty as head LG’s USA home entertainment business at the end of this year, when the current exec retires.
