Google doesn’t want you getting gravy and what have you all over your laptop. So to avoid transferring your Thanksgiving meal straight to your keyboard, the search giant is adding its “Ok Google” hot word technology to Chrome with a new extension.

The implementation works exactly as it does in Android 4.4 KitKat: simply say “Ok Google,” and then speak your inquiry. The hands-free experience is meant to add some extra convenience to your computer, just in case you’re busy brining the turkey. Google provided a simple GIF to demonstrate what the extension is capable of, which we’ve included above. The only caveat is that you need to be on google.com for the extension to work.

Give it a try now: it definitely builds on the old functionality, which allows you to speak after tapping the search bar’s microphone button.
