Ratchet and Clank developer Insomniac Games is lending its talent to Microsoft to get its parkour-based zombie shooter Sunset Overdrive off the ground, and it will be released sometime in 2014.

Speculation of a 2014 release came through the Xbox Wire, where it has a 2014 release date next to Titanfall and Project Spark, and Microsoft confirmed it with a Twitter post.

Not too much is known about Sunset Overdrive besides that it looks absolutely awesome. Despite the return to form, a lot of fans are warily watching Insomniac Games. Fuse bombed, and the company switched teams to help out Microsoft’s launch instead of Sony’s, leaving some to wonder where its future alliance lie.

Insomniac Games, who is independent and not owned by either company, fully plans to support both platforms and wanted to experiment with the Xbox One cloud-space with Sunset Overdrive.

I hope it all goes to plan, and Insomniac doesn’t pull the carpet out from under this one like Overstrike, because there aren’t many other games on the Xbox One which have my attention.
