Metal Gear Solid VR Missions

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a PlayStation 1 Classic released on the PlayStation Store, and this week’s will complete the Metal Gear Solid series. Every main game in the series, except for the horrendous NES port of Metal Gear, will be available on PlayStation 3 once Metal Gear Solid VR Missions lights up.

This is an entry for gamers who love gameplay and not much else. This package delivers none of the heavy handed storytelling the series is best known for, but rather over 300 action packed virtual missions for Snake to test his skills in. Heavy gunning or stealth, this game comes with it all.

Think of it more like a puzzle game with a Metal Gear mindset than an actual action game, and you’ll have a better idea of what to expect.

Your reward for clearing the game is a photo-op shoot with all the females in the game, thanks to Hideo Kojima’s never ceasing sense of humor, and the ability to play as Ninja Grey Fox in a few stages of the main game. Plus, you can do battle with a giant enemy soldier too. It’s epic.

Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions will be available with the PlayStation Store update this week. Maybe while Sony is feeling generous with the PlayStation 1 releases, they can try to push for a few more unreleased classics before the PS3 loses support.
