Virgin Mobile announced on Monday that it is now offering the HTC Desire (the 601 model that was announced in early September) for $279.99 without a contract. The device offers rather compelling specs, especially for those who want some of the features available in the flagship HTC One.
It’s equipped with Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, a 4.5-inch display with a 960 x 540-pixel resolution, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the Sense UI, a 5-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot and BoomSound speakers that are similar to the ones found on the HTC One. Additionally, you’ll get access to BlinkFeed and HTC’s awesome Zoe and Video Highlight software features.
At $279.99, the device certainly isn’t cheap, but you’re not tied to a contract and you’ll have a pretty decent, if not entry-level, Android experience.
