Google Nexus 5-Google Now Voice Prompt

Android 4.4 KitKat is still only available on a few select Nexus devices, but Google is already rolling out some of its new features to the entire Android community starting with the “OK Google” hotword for its official Search app. The new update should work for all devices running Android 4.1 and includes a number of new features.

Within Google Now you’ll see some new information cards. The app now includes website update cards—which act as a sort of RSS feed for your favorite blogs and other sites—new cards for TV and movie news, and general news topic cards. Google is also integrating real-time traffic data from Wave into the app.

Google is also making it easier to set up the Google Experience Launcher on your device, which offers instant access to Google Now right from the home screen. This Nexus 5 feature didn’t transfer over to to other Nexus devices with Android 4.4, but can be easily installed thanks to this latest Search and some side-loading.
