HP Omni 10 Windows 8.1 Tablet Launches for $399

Earlier this year, HP unveiled a fresh batch of Android and Windows tablets, and today the company is finally selling its Omni 10 tablet through the Microsoft Store. The Windows 8.1 slate is available for purchase now starting at $399.

The Omni 10 is equipped with a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200-pixel IPS display, Intel’s quad-core Bay Trail Atom Z3770 processor, 2GB of memory, 32GB of built-in storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a battery promising 8.5 hours of use per charge. As an added bonus, Microsoft is selling HP’s new tablet with Office 2013 software pre-installed at no extra cost.

The HP Omni 10 will enter an increasingly crowded market of Bay Trail tablets, with strong competition from ASUS, Dell and Toshiba. At $399 the Omni 10 is a little on the expensive side, and lacks any killer feature that might help differentiate it from the rest of the pack, though it may still be a solid choice if you’re in the market for a full sized Windows tablet.
