BioWare Montreal Teases New Mass Effect Game

We are talking serious teasing here. BioWare just released several off screen shots of the new Mass Effect project it is working on, but the resulting images still leave a lot for the imagination. All shots are too far from the screens to see much of any importance, and what can be made out seems to have little impact beyond simple settings and character models.

At least the team at BioWare Montreal behind the game look happy and proud to be working on it. A lot of speculation has been thrown at the next game in the Mass Effect universe with fans wondering how it will carry the branching story into the next narrative.

Producer Casey Hudson started the day with a post, stating “As we celebrate N7 day, we look back at the talented people who worked on the Mass Effect trilogy,” and many of the other employees at the studio followed suit with their own images.

See anything of value in these shots? I’m not horribly impressed by anything here, but I am at least happy to see that a new Mass Effect is in the works. It was a highlight of this past console generation, and Mass Effect 2 escaped as the best game in years.

The new Mass Effect game will be using the Frostbite 3 engine just like the rest of EA’s non-sporting line-up, so expect Shepard’s successor to look even better when fighting or friendly conversing with the scum of the universe.
