Sony on Thursday officially revealed its schedule for both Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Android 4.4 KitKat updates. The company said that it’s going to start rolling out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia SP, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 next month, while some other devices on older software, including the Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V, will also get the update.

Sony’s announcement shoots down rumors that several phones would jump right to Android 4.4 KitKat, though a few of the devices will indeed see that update in the future. The Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 will all be upgraded to Google’s latest mobile operating system, though after they receive Jelly Bean, which means we’re at least a few months out from that happening.

The company also advised that roll-outs will vary by market and by carrier partner. In the U.S. , for example, carrier testing often pushes launch dates back past the European releases.
