The race continues for the largest 4G LTE network, and on Wednesday AT&T activated 14 brand new LTE markets in the United States. With the new markets lit up with blazing fast LTE, AT&T now has a total of 461 U.S. markets covered.
The new cities covered include: Fairbanks Metropolitan Area, AK; Galesburg, Macomb and Peoria, IL; Des Moines, IA: Madisonville and Maysville, KY; Cumberland, MD; St. Cloud, MN; St. Joseph, MO; Roanoke Rapids, NC; Gettysburg, PA; Big Spring, TX and Winchester, VA.
By comparison, Sprint now has 230 4G LTE markets, T-Mobile has 233 4G LTE markets and Verizon covers more than 95 percent of the population with 4G LTE in more than 500 markets. AT&T is catching up to Verizon, however, and some data tests have showed that it has the fastest speeds in the U.S. on average.
