Target Offering $200 For First Gen iPad This Week Only

Target Corp. Reported A 4 percent increase in second-quarter profits

Target is offering a special deal when you trade in your old iPad this week, promising at least $200 in-store credit for your aging tablet. The only catch is that the device needs needs to power on and the screen can’t be scratched. The promotion lasts through Nov. 9 at physical Target Mobility stores.

The deal covers all iPads, including the first-generation model. It may also be worthwhile if you’ve got an old iPad 2 lying around, though you probably won’t get the $399 that Apple is now charging for the device. If you’re holding onto an iPad 3 or newer and want to trade-up for a new model you’re probably better off selling it directly online through eBay or a similar website.

The entry-level iPad Air costs $499 for a Wi-Fi model, and goes up to $929 for the version with the most storage and cellular data enabled. Apple still hasn’t announced the release date for the iPad mini with Retina display, but we know the 7.9-inch slate will start at $399 and max out at $829.
