Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Sells in 2014 for $29.99 or $19.99

Konami has finally done a little work in clearing up all the confusion and disparity between Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. We now have a release time frame for one of those games, along with price points and a little explanation.

In an email from the publisher that made the rounds this morning, we now know for sure the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will sell for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the spring of 2014. It will serve as a prologue for the events in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The release indicates that Ground Zeroes will serve as a sort of demo and training ground for what players will find in The Phantom Pain. Here’s that section, the bold emphasis is my own:

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES features new advances made possible by Kojima Productions’ FOX Engine, such as radical new game design, day and night cycles, and weather conditions that will all dynamically affect gameplay. The missions are designed to ease players into the new control and gameplay advances that will be an integral part of METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN.

Players will have two options when it comes time to pick this prologue up. You can either buy it at retail on each system for $29.99, or you can download from each current generation system’s respective digital store for $19.99. The digital versions will sell for $29.99 on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Does this prologue have your attention?
